Deputy Dean Comments EDHEC's Business Management Track

Business Management Track

Interview with Prof Tawhid Chtioui

The corporate demand for new talents stresses the need for a profound understanding of corporate issues in an environment that embraces change. In fact, we are facing a context that is changing from physical to virtual, from permissive to regulatory, from information to knowledge, from authority to ethics... This calls for more creative, dynamic and challenging managers to meet the emerging requirements of the labour market.

How has EDHEC chosen to answer the demand for new-style managers?
One of the ways EDHEC fills this need is through the creation of the Business Management Track within the Master in Management programme. The ambition of this track is to give students the required competencies to convert the new challenges of the changing environment into opportunities.

Through this track, EDHEC meets the corporate demands to fill the shortage of talent with both a comprehensive knowledge of the organisation's business operations and a proficient expertise for specific job requirements.

Relying on high calibre faculty members, with strong academic records, professional qualifications and experience and our superior expertise in Marketing, Business Development, Leadership and Corporate Governance, and in Legal and Tax Management, attained through the EDHEC research centres, the BM Track offers top level educational programmes that mirror the market's changing needs.

What exactly is the Business Management Track ?
The BM Track is a 2-year Master programme taught in English. The first year is a foundation in basic skills, techniques and methods, setting the context in which businesses operate and introducing global issues alongside fundamental business competencies.
The second year is a specialisation programme where students refine the global knowledge acquired and select among several specialties depending upon their interest and aptitudes.

What do students do in their Specialisation Year?
The specialisation year offers an attractive programme which includes the following areas:
  • Master of Science in Marketing Management
  • Master of Science in Legal and Tax Management
  • Master of Science in Arts & NGOs Management
  • Master of Science in Entrepreneurship
  • Master of Science in Strategy & Organisation Consultancy

Students choose their second year specialisation after their first semester in Year 1. The BM Track offers students the chance to get a double degree from EDHEC Business School - The Master in management degree and the Master of Science. Students can also choose to pursue their second year in other specialties thanks to our  International Academic Exchange programmes and double degree agreements with partner institutions. Of course these options all provide added value to a student's CV.
